Help! My ipod classic is not working with the new itunes

Help plz i dont know what else to do, i took it to the apple store and they restore for me but when i came home it freezes itunes and my pc, i tried and older itunes, format the ipod and restore it, ran disk erros, am i missing something?! The guy at the shop told me is an "antique" , i bought it a year ago only and barely used it, i feel lile burned money, ipod classic is my favorite model, any suggestions plzzzz!!!!
